When a large part of the root is exposed, an aesthetic concern arises, as the teeth appear excessively long and the spaces between them often become more pronounced. Beyond aesthetics, patients may also experience sensitivity to cold or heat, as well as discomfort or difficulty during tooth brushing.<\/p><p>The causes of gingival recession commonly include periodontitis, smoking, anatomical factors, aggressive tooth brushing, unsuccessful orthodontic treatment, among others.<\/p><p>Root coverage with a gingival graft is performed through a microsurgical procedure that involves harvesting a graft from the patient or using a synthetic graft, depending on the extent of the condition.
