If neglected, gingivitis develops and may progress to periodontitis. This means that the tooth gradually loses its supporting structures, leading to resorption of the surrounding bone and resulting in tooth mobility or even tooth loss.<\/p><p>The prevention achieved through professional dental cleaning helps preserve natural teeth.
