Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is performed to address pronounced discolorations that cannot be eliminated through professional cleaning and to restore a bright, radiant smile that is several shades whiter than the original, with long-lasting results.

Whitening is a safe, fast, and effective tooth color–enhancing treatment that is carried out exclusively by the Dentist, following professional tooth cleaning and the removal of tartar and caries.

Teeth whitening is performed in the following ways:

In-office whitening

At the Dental Office, in a single session. A whitening agent is applied, which acts either on its own or, in cases of more severe discoloration, with the assistance of laser technology. This method delivers excellent whitening results and provides even longer-lasting outcomes when combined with at-home whitening using custom trays.

At-home whitening

At home, using custom made trays specifically designed for each patient. These trays are filled with a whitening agent and keep it in close contact with the teeth while preventing contact with the gums. The trays are worn for 4–8 hours daily for approximately two weeks.

After whitening, the tooth color stabilizes over a two-week period, during which it is recommended to avoid smoking, red wine, pomegranate, black tea, grapefruit, and foods containing strong pigments.

The whitening result lasts longer in individuals who rinse or brush their teeth after consuming beverages or foods with intense coloring agents. It can also be maintained for a longer period with occasional at-home whitening touch-up treatments.
